  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamo
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze, optional)
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk or lemon juice (for glaze, optional)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze, optional)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease the donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, folding gently until just mixed.
  5. Fold in the blueberries carefully.
  6. Fill the donut pan with the batter and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  7. Let the donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  8. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, milk or lemon juice, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  9. Dip the cooled donuts in the glaze and allow to set before serving.

Notes

Measure flour correctly by spooning it into the measuring cup. Avoid overmixing to keep the donuts tender. Store in airtight container for 2-3 days at room temperature.
