- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the taco seasoning and water, then simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until the meat is well coated and the liquid has mostly absorbed.
- Carefully open the chip bags along the side or top, leaving the chips inside.
- Spoon a portion of the seasoned beef into each bag of chips.
- Top each bag with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheddar cheese, sour cream, salsa, and any optional toppings you like.
- Serve immediately with a fork or spoon, or let everyone shake the bag gently to combine before eating.
Notes
For easier serving, set out all toppings buffet-style so everyone can customize their own bag. You can substitute ground turkey for the beef or use any favorite chip flavor.
