Equipment

  • skillet
  • spatula
  • measuring spoons
  • measuring cup
  • serving spoon

Method

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Stir in the taco seasoning and water, then simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until the meat is well coated and the liquid has mostly absorbed.
  3. Carefully open the chip bags along the side or top, leaving the chips inside.
  4. Spoon a portion of the seasoned beef into each bag of chips.
  5. Top each bag with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheddar cheese, sour cream, salsa, and any optional toppings you like.
  6. Serve immediately with a fork or spoon, or let everyone shake the bag gently to combine before eating.

Notes

For easier serving, set out all toppings buffet-style so everyone can customize their own bag. You can substitute ground turkey for the beef or use any favorite chip flavor.
