- Bloom the Gelatin: Sprinkle gelatin over 1/2 cup of cold water and let sit for 5-10 minutes.
- Gently Heat the Liquid Base: Combine remaining 1 cup of water with milk in a saucepan and heat over medium-low until warm.
- Dissolve the Bloomed Gelatin: Add bloomed gelatin to warm liquid and whisk until completely dissolved.
- Incorporate Sweetener and Vanilla: Stir in sweetener and vanilla extract/paste, adding salt before tasting.
- Prepare for Chilling: Strain mixture through a fine-mesh sieve if desired.
- Pour and Chill: Pour the mixture into molds and refrigerate for at least 4 hours until set.
- Serve and Enjoy: Unmold if desired and garnish with fresh fruits or yogurt.
Notes
To make this vegan, substitute animal gelatin with agar-agar as instructed. For flavor variations, experiment with different extracts and natural purees.
