Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup filtered water or unsweetened plant milk
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup or agave nectar
  • 3 tablespoons agar-agar powder
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon blackstrap molasses
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamo
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of ground cloves or allspice
  • Pinch of fine sea salt
  • 1/2 cup mixed dried fruits, finely chopped
  • Zest of 1/2 organic orange (optional)
  • Few drops of rum or almond extract (optional)

Method
 

  1. Prepare the molds: Arrange your silicone molds on a baking sheet.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: In a saucepan, mix agar-agar powder, cocoa powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  3. Add the liquids: Add water (or plant milk), maple syrup (or agave), molasses, and vanilla to the dry ingredients. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Bring to a boil: Heat over medium-high heat until boiling, whisking continuously for about 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat and add extras: Remove from heat and add chopped dried fruits, orange zest (if using), and extracts. Mix well.
  6. Pour into molds: Quickly pour the mixture into prepared molds before it thickens.
  7. Cool: Let the molds cool at room temperature for 15 to 20 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 1 to 2 hours until firm.
  8. Unmold and enjoy: Once firm, carefully unmold the gummies.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5-7 days. These can also be frozen for longer storage. Do not reheat.
