Equipment

  • small saucepan
  • whisk
  • measuring spoons
  • measuring cup
  • mugs

Method

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the milk, pumpkin purée, sugar, and pumpkin pie spice until hot and steaming, but not boiling.
  2. Whisk in the vanilla syrup, then remove the pan from the heat.
  3. If desired, froth the milk mixture using a handheld frother, blender, or whisk until lightly foamy.
  4. Pour the espresso or strong coffee into two mugs, then divide the pumpkin-spice milk mixture evenly between them.
  5. Top each latte with whipped cream and finish with a light dusting of pumpkin pie spice or ground cinnamon.
  6. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

For a sweeter latte, use the full 2 tablespoons of sugar. Non-dairy milk such as oat milk works especially well for a creamy texture. If you prefer a stronger coffee flavor, use espresso instead of brewed coffee.
