- Prepare the spice infusion: In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of cranberry juice, ginger, cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, and nutmeg. Simmer on medium heat for 10-15 minutes.
- Strain the infusion: Pour the spiced mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a punch bowl, discarding solids.
- Combine juices: Add remaining cranberry juice, orange juice, lime juice, and pomegranate juice to the punch bowl.
- Sweeten to taste: Stir in maple syrup or agave, adjusting sweetness as desired.
- Add rum (optional): Stir in spiced rum if using.
- Chill thoroughly: Cover and refrigerate for 2-4 hours, or overnight.
- Just before serving: Stir in sparkling water or club soda for effervescence.
- Garnish and serve: Float cranberries, orange slices, and lime wheels, garnishing with mint.
Notes
For a non-alcoholic version, omit the rum. Store leftovers without sparkling water to maintain fizz. Best served chilled.
