Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups organic cranberry juice (unsweetened)
  • 2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 cup pomegranate juice (unsweetened)
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup or agave nectar
  • 1/4 cup fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 6-8 whole cloves
  • 1 star anise pod
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 cup sparkling water or club soda (chilled)
  • 1/2 cup spiced rum or dark rum (optional)
  • Fresh cranberries, orange slices, and lime wheels for garnish
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Method
 

  1. Prepare the spice infusion: In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of cranberry juice, ginger, cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, and nutmeg. Simmer on medium heat for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Strain the infusion: Pour the spiced mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a punch bowl, discarding solids.
  3. Combine juices: Add remaining cranberry juice, orange juice, lime juice, and pomegranate juice to the punch bowl.
  4. Sweeten to taste: Stir in maple syrup or agave, adjusting sweetness as desired.
  5. Add rum (optional): Stir in spiced rum if using.
  6. Chill thoroughly: Cover and refrigerate for 2-4 hours, or overnight.
  7. Just before serving: Stir in sparkling water or club soda for effervescence.
  8. Garnish and serve: Float cranberries, orange slices, and lime wheels, garnishing with mint.

Notes

For a non-alcoholic version, omit the rum. Store leftovers without sparkling water to maintain fizz. Best served chilled.
