Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh cranberries, rinsed
  • 4 cups 100% cranberry juice, unsweetened
  • 2 cups orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • 4 cups sparkling water or club soda, chilled
  • ½ to ¾ cup maple syrup or agave nectar, to taste
  • 2-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 3-4 whole cinnamon sticks
  • 3-4 star anise pods
  • Orange slices, for garnish
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs, for garnish

Method
 

  1. In a saucepan, combine fresh cranberries, unsweetened cranberry juice, thinly sliced ginger, cinnamon sticks, and star anise. Simmer gently for 10-15 minutes until cranberries burst.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in maple syrup. Taste and adjust sweetness. Cover and steep for 30 minutes to a few hours.
  3. Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into your pitcher, pressing solids to extract all liquid.
  4. To the strained base, add freshly squeezed orange juice and stir well.
  5. Chill the Jingle Juice base for at least 2-3 hours.
  6. Just before serving, add chilled sparkling water and gently stir to combine.
  7. Garnish with fresh orange slices, whole cranberries, and rosemary sprigs. Serve immediately.
