Ingredients
  

  • 500g All-Purpose Flour
  • 50g Granulated Sugar
  • 7g Active Dry Yeast
  • 5g Fine Sea Salt
  • 200ml Whole Milk
  • 70g Unsalted Butter
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 200g Berry Jam or Preserves
  • Neutral Oil (for frying)
  • 100g Granulated Sugar (for coating)
  • Powdered Sugar (optional)

Method
 

  1. Warm the milk and activate the yeast with sugar.
  2. Combine dry ingredients and form a dough.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let the dough rise until doubled in size.
  5. Shape the donuts and let them proof again.
  6. Heat the oil and fry the donuts until golden brown.
  7. Fill the donuts with jam using a piping bag.
  8. Coat in sugar and serve warm.

Notes

Best eaten fresh, but can be stored for up to 2 days in an airtight container. To revive, microwave briefly or warm in the oven.
