  • measuring spoons
  • measuring cups
  • mugs
  • fine mesh strainer

Method

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the milk, pumpkin purée, maple syrup or honey, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  2. Whisk constantly until the mixture is hot and smooth, but do not let it boil.
  3. Add the chai tea bag or loose-leaf chai tea to the saucepan, or stir in the prepared chai concentrate.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and steep for 3 to 5 minutes if using tea bags or loose-leaf tea, stirring occasionally to blend the flavors.
  5. Remove the tea bag or strain out the loose-leaf tea, if needed.
  6. Pour the latte into mugs and top with whipped cream and a light sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice, if desired.
  7. Serve warm immediately.

Notes

Use any milk you like, such as dairy, oat, almond, or soy milk. Adjust the sweetness to taste, and use chai concentrate for a stronger flavor or tea bags for a lighter latte. For a frothier drink, blend the latte briefly before serving.
