Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease donut pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together plant-based milk, melted butter, flax egg, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients, gently mixing until just combined.
- Transfer batter to a piping bag and fill donut pan cavities about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden and springy.
- Cool in pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Prepare glaze by mixing powdered sugar, plant-based milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Dip each donut in the glaze, let excess drip off, and add toppings if desired.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days. These donuts can also be refrigerated or frozen for longer shelf life.
