Ingredients
  

  • 4-5 medium-sized ripe oranges
  • 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin powder
  • 2-3 tablespoons natural sweetener (e.g., maple syrup, honey)
  • 1 cup filtered water (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest

Method
 

  1. Wash the oranges and zest one. Juice the oranges to get about 2 cups of juice and strain it through a sieve.
  2. Sprinkle gelatin over 1/2 cup cold water in a saucepan and let it bloom for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Heat the bloomed gelatin on low, stirring until dissolved. Do not boil.
  4. Add the remaining water, orange juice, lemon juice, and sweetener to the dissolved gelatin and stir until sweetener dissolves.
  5. Stir in orange zest.
  6. Pour the mixture into molds and chill in the refrigerator for 4-6 hours until set.
  7. Serve chilled.

Notes

Ensure ripe oranges for the best flavor. Chill overnight for optimal texture.
