Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 can full-fat coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons agar-agar powder
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup or agave nectar
  • Zest of one orange
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Zest one orange and juice enough oranges to make two cups of juice. Strain to remove seeds.
  2. Sprinkle agar-agar powder over cold orange juice and let it bloom for two minutes.
  3. Heat the mixture on medium-low, stirring constantly until it simmers and thickens slightly.
  4. Mix in the coconut milk, sweetener, vanilla extract, and orange zest until well combined.
  5. Pour into molds or a dish and let it cool at room temperature for 15 minutes before refrigerating for 2-4 hours to set.
  6. Once set, gently unmold and serve chilled.

Notes

Ensure agar-agar is boiled properly for it to set. Use fresh juice for best flavor. Store in the refrigerator for up to five days.
