Ingredients
Method
- Wash the fresh green beans thoroughly in cold water and trim the stem ends.
- Place chopped bacon in a cold skillet and turn the heat to medium, cooking until golden and crispy. Remove bacon and set aside, keeping drippings in the pan.
- Add fresh green beans to the skillet with bacon fat and sauté over medium-high heat for 5 to 7 minutes until bright green with slight charred spots.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper until the sugar mostly dissolves.
- Pour the glaze over the cooked green beans, reduce heat to medium-low, and continuously toss until coated. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes until desired tenderness.
- Stir the crispy bacon bits back into the pan, toss to combine, and serve immediately.
Notes
Use fresh, high-quality ingredients for best results. Store leftovers in an airtight glass container for up to three days. Reheat gently in a skillet to maintain texture.
