Method
 

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the diced apples, diced pears, toasted pecans, brown sugar, maple syrup, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  2. Stir in the caramel sauce until the fruit is evenly coated.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors blend and the salsa chill.
  4. Spoon the salsa into a serving bowl and drizzle with additional caramel sauce if desired.
  5. Serve chilled with cinnamon sugar tortilla chips, graham crackers, or apple slices, along with whipped cream cheese or vanilla yogurt if using.

Notes
