  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ½ cup rainbow sprinkles
  • 1 ½ cups confectioners' sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Extra rainbow sprinkles for decorating

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease your donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the egg and mix in milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients gently, then fold in sprinkles.
  5. Fill each donut cavity about two-thirds full with batter.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden and springy.
  7. Cool the donuts in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  8. Prepare the glaze by whisking together confectioners' sugar, milk, and vanilla.
  9. Dip each cooled donut in the glaze and sprinkle with extra rainbow sprinkles.

Notes

Store glazed donuts in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 days. Refrigerate for longer storage up to 3-4 days.
