Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 6-cavity donut pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined.
- Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden brown and springy to the touch.
- Let the donuts cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before removing them.
- Mix the topping sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish. Dip each warm donut in melted butter, then coat in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Place the coated donuts on a wire rack to cool completely or enjoy warm.
