Ingredients
Scale
- 2 fresh passion fruits (or 1/2 cup passion fruit juice)
- 1 tea bag (black, green, or herbal tea)
- 2 cups hot water
- 1 tbsp honey or sweetener (optional)
- Ice cubes (for iced tea)
- Mint leaves or lemon slices (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Boil water: Heat 2 cups of water to about 190-200°F (just before boiling).
- Steep the tea: Add your tea bag or loose tea leaves and let it steep for 3-5 minutes.
- Prepare the passion fruit: Cut the passion fruits and scoop out the pulp.
- Mix it in: Add the passion fruit pulp (or juice) to the brewed tea.
- Sweeten & strain (optional): Add honey or your preferred sweetener. Strain if you prefer a smooth tea.
- For iced tea: Let the tea cool, then pour over ice.
- Garnish & serve: Add mint leaves or a lemon slice for extra freshness. Enjoy!
Notes
- For a caffeine-free version: Use hibiscus, chamomile, or rooibos tea instead of black/green tea.
- Cold brew option: Steep tea leaves in cold water for 6-12 hours in the fridge, then mix with passion fruit.
- Adjust sweetness: Passion fruit is naturally tart, so adjust honey or sweetener based on your preference.
- Best served fresh: If storing, keep it in the fridge for up to 3 days.
