Ingredients
Scale
- 2–3 fresh passion fruits (or 1/2 cup bottled passion fruit juice)
- 2–3 tea bags (black, green, or herbal)
- 4 cups water
- 2 tablespoons honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes (as needed)
- Lemon slices, mint leaves, or ginger (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Boil the water: Heat 4 cups of water until it reaches a boil.
- Steep the tea: Add the tea bags to a heatproof container and pour the hot water over them. Let steep for 5-7 minutes, then remove the tea bags.
- Add passion fruit: Cut open the passion fruits and scoop the pulp into the tea. If using bottled juice, pour it in and stir well.
- Sweeten: While the tea is still warm, stir in honey or sugar until dissolved.
- Chill: Let the tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Serve: Fill glasses with ice and pour the chilled tea over it. Garnish with lemon slices, mint, or ginger.
- Enjoy your homemade iced passion fruit tea!
Notes
- Tea base options: Black tea gives a stronger flavor, green tea is milder, and herbal tea (hibiscus, chamomile) makes it caffeine-free.
- Adjust sweetness: If the tea is too tart, add more sweetener to balance the flavor.
- For a fizzy version: Mix with sparkling water before serving.
- Storage: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Shake or stir before serving.
