Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups vanilla ice cream
- 2 cups cornflakes (crushed)
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 3 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
- Optional: chocolate drizzle, honey, or caramel sauce for topping
Instructions
- Shape the Ice Cream: Scoop the ice cream into oval shapes and place them on a parchment-lined tray. Freeze for at least 1 hour.
- Prepare the Coating: Crush the cornflakes and mix them with cinnamon. Place flour in one bowl and beaten eggs in another.
- Coat the Ice Cream: Roll the frozen ice cream in flour, dip in eggs, and coat with the crushed cornflakes. Repeat the egg and cornflake coating for extra crispiness.
- Freeze Again: Return the coated ice cream to the freezer for another hour to keep it firm before frying.
- Heat the Oil: In a deep fryer or pot, heat vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).
- Fry Quickly: Fry the coated ice cream for 5-10 seconds until golden brown. Remove immediately and drain on a paper towel.
- Serve & Enjoy: Drizzle with honey, chocolate, or caramel sauce and serve immediately!
Notes
- For best results, freeze the coated ice cream overnight before frying.
- Use high-fat ice cream to keep it firm during frying.
- Experiment with different coatings like crushed cookies or graham crackers.
