Honey Pepper Chicken Pasta

A creamy, sweet, and spicy Honey Pepper Chicken Pasta that combines crispy chicken, rich honey-pepper glaze, and a smooth Alfredo sauce. This easy homemade version is even better than the restaurant favorite!

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Pasta:

  • 12 oz fettuccine pasta
  • 1 tsp salt (for boiling water)

For the Honey Pepper Sauce:

  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup Alfredo sauce

For Garnish:

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken:

    • Slice the chicken into bite-sized pieces or strips.
    • Season with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
    • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and cook the chicken for 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown. Set aside.
  2. Cook the Pasta:

    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
    • Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.
    • Drain the pasta, reserving ½ cup of pasta water, and set aside.
  3. Make the Honey Pepper Sauce:

    • In the same pan, melt butter over medium heat.
    • Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Stir in honey, black pepper, and red pepper flakes, letting it simmer for 2 minutes.
  4. Combine the Pasta and Sauce:

    • Reduce heat and add Alfredo sauce to the honey pepper mixture.
    • Stir until fully combined and smooth.
    • Add the cooked pasta, tossing to coat evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water.
  5. Assemble the Dish:

    • Place the crispy chicken on top of the pasta.
    • Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley if desired.
  6. Serve and Enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra crunch, top with crispy bacon bits or fried onion strings.
  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
  • Swap fettuccine for penne, spaghetti, or rigatoni based on preference.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of milk or cream.
