Ham And Cheese Quiche

This delicious ham and cheese quiche is perfect for brunch, breakfast, or even dinner! With a flaky crust, creamy egg filling, savory ham, and melted cheese, it’s a versatile dish that’s easy to make and a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 8 slices 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup diced ham (smoked, honey, or Black Forest)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or Gruyère)
  • 1 pre-baked 9-inch pastry crust (optional for crustless quiche)
  • ½ cup optional vegetables (spinach, onions, bell peppers, or mushrooms)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Optional: ¼ tsp nutmeg (for added flavor)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Prepare the crust (if using): Blind bake the pastry crust for 10 minutes, then set aside to cool.
  • Sauté vegetables (optional): If using vegetables, sauté them in a pan to remove excess moisture.
  • Whisk the filling: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until smooth.
  • Assemble the quiche: Layer the diced ham, shredded cheese, and sautéed vegetables (if any) into the crust or directly into a greased pie dish for crustless quiche.
  • Pour the egg mixture: Slowly pour the egg mixture over the ham and cheese, ensuring even distribution.
  • Bake: Place the quiche on a baking sheet and bake for 35-40 minutes or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
  • Cool and serve: Let the quiche cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!

Notes

  • For a crustless version, skip the pastry crust and grease the pie dish thoroughly.
  • Feel free to mix cheeses for a more complex flavor.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
  • Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes for the best results.
